Like several other Pacific Island nations, Tuvalu is particurly susceptible to likely future effects of CLIMATE CHANGE and sea level rises. This series of small islands offers no high ground where its population might be able to take refuge and it is extremely isolated geographically from its neighbours. Sea level rise is already causing loss of precious land through flooding and loss of crops through inundation.
